In the Clear

We know, we know. April showers bring May flowers, but that doesn’t make it any easier to endure the recent onslaught of rain in the city. What might help? This amazing Raeburn Design transparent bomber jacket, constructed from a re-deployed military parachute. Designer Christopher Raeburn has been in the spotlight recently, given that he worked with Tim Soar for a London Fashion Week collaboration. But Atlantic Ocean be damned! His creations are, for now, only available in London…though an online store should be coming soon. Whew!

Wizard of Design

When George Clooney is thinking of buying up a dream chair, where do you think he goes? That would be straight to Andrianna Shamaris whose brilliant designs have inspired like a feverish celebrity, designer, and millionaire following. Working with materials such as teak, luxurious tamarind wood, bamboo and resin, the designer has come up with an acclaimed limited edition collection that customers like Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Pierce Brosnan, and Antony Hopkins have customized in everything from emerald to ruby tones. Discovered by Fred Segal, the London born Shamaris currently sells in two studios: on Gotham’s Greene Street and in Malibu.
